A Made Up Mind aims to focus on the health and healing of women and children in transition or who are disadvantaged, underrepresented or facing crisis so that they can learn the skills necessary to quickly begin to live or return to a productive, peaceful, and promising futures. We support women and children as well as their families by providing mentorship and creating opportunities for girls and women who are lacking basic needs and skills. A Made Up Mind offers workshops six days a week, which support life-long learning and networking opportunities for women and their families in the community. Clients typically begin with Orientation, Fresh Start and Step Up. Subsequent workshop categories and topics include Support and Empowerment Groups, Personal Development, Career and Education, Computer Literacy, Financial Literacy to include: Student Debt, Credit, Home ownership, Investing and understanding of financial products and services (financial resiliency), Family financial planning, Family Law, and Family and Parenting, Education Planning.
Career & Education
From creating a resume to gaining leadership skills, A Made Up Mind can help you succeed in the workplace. A Made Up Mind delivers individual learning and leadership opportunities in the form of class room and online training's through LMS courses, webinars, guest speakers, etc. In addition, we sponsor individual’s educational scholarships and provide computers and training in technology, business, finance, project management etc.
Life Skills
Entering a new phase of your life can feel a bit overwhelming. Fresh Start’s Life Skills services prepare you to be more confident and take control of your life, your finances and your future.
Support Services
Fresh Start offers support services for family law matters, home ownership and social work questions. We help women develop their identity, build their confidence, and express their true voice — in their families and their communities by offering individual and group counseling, case management and mentorship.
